Helping a friend with Her Website....

So I'm helping a friend with her website and she asked me to make her navigation bar for her. Easy enough. The catch was that she wanted to make it look like it was punched into metal and then rusted. That posed to be a little harder. I thought about it and I was initially going to do it in 3d. Then after thinking it through I though "I can do this entirely in photoshop and it would be easier to modify if need be. Then I don't have to worry about shaders and lighting and rendering... all that good stuff."

Here's the result:

Entirely don't in photoshop with a series of masks, blending modes and layer styles. I like the result. I think I may make a tutorial on how I did it.

Hello again!

I know I don't post a whole lot, but I've been busy, as everyone always is. I'm working on getting some new stuff on the web since my internet presence has been lacking lately. Here's a little sketch I did the other day. I really like here and I think I'll do her up right.
She's cute right? I need to make her a good male counter part to be in love with. Perhaps a Valentine's day card is in store.... Maybe that's a bit early.... Ooooo.... I just got a great idea... bwahaha! I will make my new idea happen. Just you wait.

Sandy Hook Elementary School.

My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the families of all affected.
"[Children who] had their entire lives ahead of them, birthdays graduations, weddings, kids of their own." as President Obama said.

It is a reminder to cherish every moment that you have. Life is unpredictable. Every moment is precious.

Take time to say a prayer and remember the families in Newtown. There are no comforting words that can be spoken. It is a time to mourn right now.

My cousin said it best, "Hug your children or your loved ones cause you really don't know what life will throw at you!!! I am truly grateful for my children and can not image what these poor parents in CT are feeling right now! I ask that God will be with them and all of us and our children."

Please feel free to post the momento below to show love and support for that community.
